Simatic S7 300 based automation system for control of above 480 KW Gas Turbine Generator. TP170A is used to set and monitor various parameters of turbine. This system is designed for following operation: control startup sequence of turbine, auto and manual synchronization, Normal Shutdown, Manual Operation, functioning in stand alone mode (Single generator) on loss of utility power, Multiple Turbine Generators and Auto Hand valve Operation.

Two types of PID’s are used. In normal operation exhaust or inlet pressure is controlled. During startup, PID is used to control speed of the turbine.
