Project Synopsis

Cooling Bed is the last process stage in Steel rail manufacturing plant. A Hot rail from the Hot-mill is cut into specific length & it is stored in the cooling bed. In this plant total cooling bed is divided into 3 Sub-Beds (A, B, C). Further, this sub-bed is divided into 4 parts (6m-12m-12m-6m). Based on the length of cut rail Bed (A, B, C) & its sub beds are selected. Maximum 120 m rail are stored in cooling bed simultaneously.

· System migration from Simatic S5 PLC system to S7-417-4H
· Old WFL Positioning System used in S5 System is migrated to FM-351 module
· Old Genesis based HMI is migrated to WinCC Based System
· 70 nos Old drives in the system are upgraded to 6RA70 drive system in limited Shutdown time
· ET-200U IO Rack system Is upgraded to ET-200M IO stations
· Optical fiber cables are used for long distance Profibus & Ethernet Communication
· ET200M is installed in Old panel in limited shutdown Time
