Automation system for Body in White automobile assembly line.
The Body in White assembly line consists of various fixtures and framing stations on which body parts are sequentially assembled and then welded by the welding robots.
Depending on suitably positioned sensors, the automation system recognizes the model of the car body to be assembled and sequences operations and robot commands.
This line included interfacing with upto 5 robots in a single station and host of actuators and sensors connected over Profibus-DP. The auto sequence software has been designed to permit changes in minutes.
The scope of work included:
